Cooper Phillip Playlist
Parallel Radio Interview :
Can you tell us a bit about you?
My name is Cooper Phillip and I’m pop-soul artist, performer and a songwriter. I was born and raised in Russia, and moved to the United States to pursue my singing carrier a few years back. I studied music all my life and have master of music degree from State Classical academy in Moscow, Russia. I believe it’s important to play instruments and know composition, music roots. My singing carrier started when I was 9 years old when I heard Mariah Carey for the first time. She became a huge influence and inspiration for me. I also love Stevie Wonder, Kim Burrell, Whitney Houston and Ella Fitzgerald. My music taste is very wide and open. Many artists inspired and taught me to be strong and vulnerable, calm and passionate at times, but also through learning different stories, music genres I was able to find myself, which in my opinion is the most important thing for an artist is to find authenticity.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m a little crazy, very hard working. I call myself PRO HUSTLER. My journey to my dream was really hard, full of difficulties and unnown. Coming to New York with just a big dream in my pocket wasn’t easy. I had no idea what I was about to go through. This country made me stronger, more flexible, kind and real. I’m also very very fun (based on my fiends) and I’m a believer of good energy, great people and miracles in life. On a music side I call myself Jessica Rabbit with urban swag and blonde hair 🙂
What other career could we imagine for you?
I love sharing my knowledge with people and for that reason I’m pursuing another carrier of vocal and breathing coach. I wasn’t pursuing it for a while I think it was pursuing me. It came together so naturally so I realized that it’s my true passion as well. Breathing is so important for all of us and especially for singers. I overcame asthma through breathing science called BIOPHONICS that I learnt back in Russia. This amazing technique made me 100% healthy and opened up and pushed my singing to the next level. I’ve been teaching for the past 9 years and love seeing the impact and people glowing, finding all of the answers.
What Music means to you?
Music means freedom. Music means the escape to a better world
Favorite project you worked on?
I released my single party By Myself in 2016 and it was such a fun experience. The song did 10 million streams across platforms and brought so many incredible human beings into my life.
Your worst nightmare? Most beautiful dream?
World nightmare to live in the world without music. The most beautiful dream is to impact the world with my voice, inspire by my story and make this universe a better kinder place.
I have so many exciting news for my fans and followers. I’ve been working on this new project for about a year and a half and create it over 20 records that I’m so excited about. I also shot to music videos with incredible team of people and I can’t wait for the world to see them. I’m planning their leases for those two singles right now.
…What were you doing Saturday night?
Saturday night I’m usually performing. As every independent artists who’s putting everything into his/her career I take every job that’s offered and don’t have any free Saturdays night a year. A lot of people think that it’s crazy to be busy like that. But I love it and feel truly blessed.
What do you have in your pockets right now?
Literally nothing. I prefer to have nothing in my pockets cause I’m all over the place and don’t want to loose anything 🙂
…A last word in french for our french readers?
I’m very grateful for your support and love you all (I don’t know how to say in French, sorry!)
[ Je suis très reconnaissante du soutien et je vous aime tous.]
