Parallel Radio Interview :
Can you tell us a bit about you?
I am IZA, born in Rio de Janeiro, a resident of Olaria neighborhood. I’ve always been involved with art and music in some way, but I’ve never thought about pursuing a career. I grew up singing in church only. I graduated in Marketing and worked with advertising for a while. One day, feeling unhappy with what I was doing, I began to think about what I really would like to do, even if were for free. And the only answer was music. I dropped everything I was doing, started my YouTube channel and also started investing in music.
How would you describe yourself?
I describe me as a person with determination. Someone who loves music, loves singing and who is extremely happy with everything that is happening in my life!
What other career could we imagine for you?
None. Music really is my only choice of life.
What Music means to you?
Music is a dream come true. I want to be able to sing and live on music until I get old. Besides, it is the way I have to talk about the things I believe, to pass the message that everyone should be where wants to be, without worrying about the impositions of society or what others are thinking.
Favorite project you worked on?
My first album called “Dona de Mim”. It was wonderful to release a record in my terms, with the participations that I wanted.
Your worst nightmare? Most beautiful dream?
Losing beloved people I think would be the worst nightmare. About my dream… It’s what I’m living right now!
…What were you doing Saturday night?
Last saturday was in Rio getting ready for the sunday concert, right after Brazil’s first match in World Cup.
What do you have in your pockets right now?
My cell phone.
